Well this wa sa surprise I checked Qtracker today and battlefront 1 dropped about and average of 70-80 players on at one time to 50. Battlefront 2 dropped from a solid 200 to about 170. big drop in players fo rboth Battlefront games. Guess both Battlefront games are fading away as time goes on and becoming less popular.

They're not that old. It's because they weren't really all that amazing. If they were, then people would still be playing them. A prime example of this would be Counter-Strike 1.6. It's old as hell (8 years, give or take) and thousands of people still play it.

Well, BF2 and 2142 are basically the same thing. It's almost as if they were the same game, but different versions. Ya know? I personally like 2142 more though. The maps in BF2 mostly pissed me off. Karkand was the only exception. Lol.

It's onlt cause they're gettin old. If a good three is release it'll jump up again. Yeah as kal said both Battlefronts are not that old. Its just the availability in stores, quality player interest etc. that affect how many peple play it. battlefront 1 had a "good" run having around couple hundred people playing online at one time during the first year it was out, and 30 odd servers. What turned a lot of people off though was patch support and the game really not being that great, people lost interest with it after buying it and trying it online some. Vehicles where way overpowered and people more than likely played as the rocket class and just whored with them. Imbalances and crappy gameplay additions turned some people off but it had a good run for about a year, much better than bf2 anyway. Also once bf2 came out and other better games hit the market that caught peoples interest BF1 died alot more. Down to less than 150 players on at one time. Bf2 though was a different story. Many people bought the game and tried it when it first came out, and I remember the Beta being packed as crap just hundreds of people. But then online issues, unupgraded units and stale gameplay drove people away. Also space and heroes really turned off a lot of people. heroes where so unbalanced that you had the slightest good skill you could own a server for the round which would piss alot of people off. Also just a HUGE lack of support for both games killed them. By this I meant lucasarts support. EA and other major played online game publishers support their games a lot more than lucasarts with Battlefront. Then you take Jedi Knight 2 at about 500 players on at one time and Jedi Academy with about 1000. These games are both 3 and 4 year sold and still have a decent player base. why? because they are both much better games ot fans. Battlefront not so much.

Also, because they are about Jedi. Everyone loves Jedi. It makes me sick.
But I guess I can blame that on Star Wars Galaxies. All the damn n00bs go "OMFG I wanna be a Jedi!" and they do. God damn Jedi. Bah.
