Does anyone have this incredible-looking game? I would get it if my compy was better.
It looks like it's based on a "1984ish" under-water, negative utopia. Holy crap, that's cool.

This game is awesome. I love the hell out of it, even though it scared the hell out of me. At the start, anyway. Besides all that, this game is a friggin' work of art. Literally. I lack the ability to properly explain this (IGN did a good job, but playing the game and reading about it are two very different things). Ever since the release of Bioshock, it would be impossible to say "Video games aren't an art form." Because this one is. Reb, you obviously don't know what the shit you're talking about. Yes, scary little girls are cliche. But that has nothing to do with this game, they aren't the "OMFG scary shit" things. At all. They're little girls that, like the rest of the city, got fucked up. Completely disregarding one of the best (in basically every sense of the word) games in years just because it has a "cliche" scary girl on the cover? The hell dude? Please stop.
Before anyone even thinks about dropping the "Lol Kal, you're just in on the hype", catch this knowledge. I wasn't. I saw a trailer and thought it looked amazingly sexy (graphically) but that was it. I didn't go on about it. Then one day, I said "Holy shit, that's coming out for the PC? Should probably get it." so I did. I was completely blown away. From the novel-like storytelling and immersing game play, to the tear inducing eye candy (game looks damn amazing), I knew I was playing a very rare gem of a game. Turns out I actually was, and I wasn't alone in my thoughts.
Too bad some people judged this book by it's cover. 0/10 for you.

The only thing I feel is kinda' weird are the supernatural powers. Doesn't it kinda' class with the run-down look of the game, K.A.L.?
I await your eyewitness account eagerly.

Whoa, cool down there. All I said was that creepy little girls are cliche. Didn't say it was a bad game. What I meant was, it looked like a 10/10 game but then I saw that and I was like "awww". Same thing with the supernatural powers that Badger mentioned. Not game ruiners at all, just a little annoying things that keep it from being perfect. I guess I'm also just trying to cope with my media filter, i.e. parents, by making up shit. When I'm 18 I'll probably get it though.

I guess I'm also just trying to cope with my media filter, i.e. parents, by making up shit. When I'm 18 I'll probably get it though. Ah, well that's fine. I just jumped the gun again. Anyway, the powers make perfect sense when you play the game. Basically, the whole reason there's an underwater city is because one man (Andrew Ryan, a man with enough gravitas in is voice to match Colbert) was sick of conforming to the morals of humanity. He felt that in order for us to truly break out of our shells, we would need a world without those pesky morals. He built a city called Rapture, where you could do basically whatever you wanted (not totally, but you could do morally "wrong" things). In this city, they did experiments. One woman figured out how to manipulate the human genome. A bunch of shit happened, they invented "Plasmids" to enhance the human species. Plasmids are things that are injected into your body, and they give you amazing powers. Some are over the top, but in a place like Rapture... well, over the top is normal. I can't really do this game justice with my words. It needs to be witnessed to be truly appreciated.
