{Etcheron} Legend
Frolicking kaadu rushed about in the wavy grass that separated the marsh world from the {EW} city. Many {EW} were up and about. But this day was more exciting than other days; Mandalore and InuYasha were preparing for a death match.
The rivalry had begun a few days precedent when InuYasha had brought back a few stories of his former life as a gang leader. He told a tale that had occurred directly after the Empire's defeat. He had several prisoners from Bespin that were part of a blood purge assault. The thugs that had captured them did not want to have blood on their hands, so they asked InuYasha to do the vile job. InuYasha, low on credits, concerted to their twisted desires due to the fact that the reward sum was relatively large.
During the execution, InuYasha said that he later found out that a young prisoner had escaped from his headquarters. Mandalore, who had been listening quietly, had suddenly risen up and began to choke InuYasha. The other {EW} had sat in stupefied horror.
Mandalore then had pulled out a small hand pistol to finish him off. But then, K.A.L. the clone, had appeared from outside the small conference room. He had stunned both InuYasha and Mandalore in one hit, and pulled Mandalore violently outside to face the consequences.
The trial then took place the next day as a faraway sun rose up from the nightly ashes. Squirrel took seat as the judge. After a heated argument, and many angry words from Mandalore telling them that he was that boy and that InuYasha had killed his family, everyone concurred to have them take part in a Skull Gladiator Match (a death match). Squirrel adjourned the court session quickly after the decision was made due to a few pangs in his chest. A few {EW} surmised that it was because he was facing the possibility of losing one, or even two, well disciplined {EW}.
In the morning, all the {EW} prepared for the match. But Mandalore, in his rage, secretly put a poisoned dart in his metal rocket launcher arm. He was ready to fight it out to whatever end, but preferably in his favor. He thirsted for blind, bloodthirsty revenge. This dart, of course, was against the rules. In the official Gladiator rules, the contestants must only choose a weapon from an already selected arsenal. Darts were not permitted. InuYasha, although not as mad as Mandalore, still felt angry that Mandalore had taken such a violent course of action. InuYasha geared up in his typical light-weight suit, armed with a sniper gun; he preferred CQS (close-quarter-sniping).
The battle started soon after. Mandalore and InuYasha circled each other in typical Gladiator fashion. Dawn stood up near the top of the stadium and fired the beginning shot in the middle of the two warriors. The match had begun...
The cyborg and the human dramatically pulled out their weapons and circled each other. Dead silence fell in the arena.
Mandalore snickered softly as he looked ahead.
K.A.L. looked on, curious, as the two began the Gladiator ritual. He saw Mandalore fingering his arm socket. K.A.L. sighed; something was wrong. He leaned over towards Wickwire, who was sitting next to him. K.A.L. whispered, handed him something, and then got up to leave.
InuYasha, feeling a twinge of impatience, quickly aimed and shot. Mandalore dove to left, evading the bolt and lifted up his built-in rocket launcher; aiming at InuYasha's head. At that exact moment Wickwire, from the stands, threw a concussion grenade. The blast threw InuYasha from his feet, narrowly saving his head from being hit by the poisonous dart.
Crying out with rage, Mandalore madly dashed forward and started throttling the half-stunned InuYasha. They struggled for only a moment. K.A.L. reappeared from a door in the second floor and jumped from the bleachers with his stun gun drawn. InuYasha managed to pull out his sniper rifle as they fought madly. K.A.L. aimed his stun gun, only to find it was uncharged. He groped madly at the charger. InuYasha pointed the rifle at Mandalore's heart.
And shot.

After the Hall of {EW} was back in order, InuYasha retreated into the caves in remorse.
The body of Mandalore was then worked on by the novice healers, Mouse and Dawn. They tried desperately to revive the cyborg, but part of his heart had been seared from the blow of the point blank hit of the sniper rifle. In utter anguish the two women gave up and went back to their usual routines.
The body of Mandalore was left in an oxygen tank for the night, even though he was not breathing.

Later that night, Palpatine had a vision, or so he thought. He saw a dark, shrouded figure in his mind's eye. The man explained to him that he had accidentally corrupted Mandalore's mind and now needed his help to revive him.
Eager to help his ailing friend, Palpatine agreed with little deliberation.

The next morning K.A.L. felt a disturbance in the force, as he had come to learn novice abilities of the Jedi Order. He felt for the {EW} in his mind. He located each, except for Mandalore and Palpatine. He already expected that he would not receive a life pulse from Mandalore, due to his ‘unconscious’ state of being.
But he frantically tried to find Palpatine. After an hour of psychic locating powers, he gave up and reported Palpatine missing. A search party was sent forth at once to scout out all the areas of the planet.
When a small recon group reached a group of caves, they found many {EW}, including InuYasha, injured and stunned. As the recon group came to the back of the caves, they found that fifteen feet of the cave had been blasted through. None of the weapons that the {EW} had access to could have done this.
"Palpatine's not alone." K.A.L. mumbled quietly.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just three days later, K.A.L. had assembled a small band of {EW} to explore the mystery of Palpatine and Mandalore. With him he took his closer friends, Badger and Wickwire. They bid farewell to all the {EW} that lived in the city, and journeyed across the marsh-land into the caves.
Mouse, who had been injured in the attack by Palpatine and the unknown foe, decided to accompany them as well. K.A.L. asked her if she could tell him anything about the man, to which she only replied, “He had bright, yellow eyes.”
K.A.L. outfitted himself in his best armor. His slick white clone armor glistened even in the dark cave. An image of Jango Fett himself, his cold nature emitted from his very breath.
Badger wore his Imperial armor that he had once stolen from a scout trooper and his ever trusty sniping rifle. He also carried a recon droid which they used in the caves to check for unwanted visitors.
Wickwire had brought along a few mines, and was laying them every once in a while just to make sure they could backtrack if needed. He also brought a mini version of a missile launcher.
Mouse, as usual, lugged around a fully loaded, demolition missile launcher. She wore a simple tunic, and a knife from Kessel. She also had night vision goggles that she had borrowed from Caz.
The cave was dank and wet, causing K.A.L. to slip every once in a while, but over-all they made adequate progress through the abyss of darkness. It wasn't until a scream of horror escaped Mouse's lips that the silence was broken. K.A.L. swung his lantern around to find that she was staring into the bleached eye-sockets of a decrepit human being.
Badger lifted his eyes and told everyone to look up. Above them was the arch of a stone entrance with a few blood-stained particles. Wickwire continued bravely into the room.
K.A.L. stopped, something was watching them. He swung around to see a dark, hooded figure rush into a crack of rock. He yelled and pulled out his EMP rocket launcher. A rush of blinding steam rose up from all corners causing K.A.L. to grope around mindlessly.
Wickwire threw a thermal into the crack, but was terrified when he saw that it was thrown back at them by the force. Mouse and Badger dove for cover, but Badger was not able to escape the blast. He was tossed to the floor like a rag doll.
K.A.L. fell to the side, and Wickwire gasped.
{EW}Palpatine stood before them, his eyes a deep red and his hands clenched. He spoke in an unnatural voice and drew a blaster as he spoke,
"Pitiful fools."
Mouse lay jumbled in a heap, but managed to lift her head to see Palpatine shoot K.A.L. in the chest. Wickwire let out a cry of rage, jumped in the air, and brought his fists down, crunching into Palpatine's head. Palpatine fell to the rocky ground with a thud.
The sounds rebounded through the cave. Wickwire moaned. After he recovered, Wickwire administered bacta to his friends as the room grew quite.
In an hour or two, K.A.L. and the others were revived somewhat. Wickwire suggested that they should journey into the heart of the cave to find the secret that had corrupted Palpatine's mind. Palpatine was still out cold, so they used Mouse's tunic belt to tie Palpatine to a large boulder nearby for the moment. But after a while of arguing, Mouse said that one of them should stay behind to guard Palpatine.
Everyone looked at Badger.
K.A.L. drew out his EMP and led Wickwire and Mouse down a long staircase below the blood-stained entrance.
They entered a dark room illuminated by only a single, forbidding candle. They approached this silently, as if the walls would wake if they were too loud. K.A.L. jerked around when he heard a slight rustling.
Lying on the ground were a few pieces of dirty paper. K.A.L. picked them up and began reading softly.
"And so they were not alone,
A hidden voice followed them,
Unknowing they stumbled,
And the fate of a traitor followed,
The world was in ruin,
But they were blind with pride,
Then the Phantom Menace struck,
And the mighty warriors soon died..."
"What does it mean?" Mouse asked. Wickwire shuddered as he answered.
"I don't know."
K.A.L., however, was more interested in the room they were in. It looked like it had been abandoned for years...“But wait,” he thought, “Order 66 said that he had just built this planet and sold to it Squirrel…” After a while of scouring the area, they went back to where they had left Badger.
As they entered the thin tunnel, they found Badger sobbing; all that was beside him was a broken tunic belt. He told them that a man had suddenly surprised him and knocked him out. When he awoke, Palpatine was gone.
When K.A.L., Badger, Wickwire and Mouse returned to the {EW} City, they reported the grave news to Squirrel.
With permission from Squirrel to enter the caves in force, K.A.L, Badger, Wickwire, and Mouse began choosing who would go with them. K.A.L naturally chose to bring Caz, his brother, with him. Everyone liked Caz, and agreed to admit him into the group.
Badger chose to bring Lunch, his famous right-hand man. They worked well together, always side-by-side with their sniper rifles. They found themselves hitting the same target at the same time on countless occasions.
Wickwire carefully deliberated about who he should choose. After debating with himself, he decided to bring InuYasha, the retired gangster, with him. Once the others heard about his decision, they felt that Wickwire had made the wrong choice. But Wickwire assured them that InuYasha was a wise and dangerous warrior. Everyone knew the two worked well together, so they didn’t argue for long.
Mouse was more than excited to choose someone to go with her. Without hesitation, she chose Dawn, the only other female {EW}. The two got along once they met, and seemed to be a perfect match. As they prepared their gear, they constantly giggled like young school girls.
Goblin ran up to Squirrel. “You can’t go! What if the base becomes endangered? We don't have enough {EW} to protect us!”
“You’ll be fine Gob. Just remain calm and everything will be alright.” Replied Squirrel with confidence.
“Alright..." Sighed Goblin, "Just make sure to bring Palpatine back safely”
“Don’t worry about that," Squirrel said. A mystical light entered his eyes,
"We will bring him back."
